The Silent Dismissal
Tosh Ford

How many friends do I have? How many do I want?
Do you think they will walk up as you need a friend to keep you safe from all the messy moments that follow us?
Once you're deep in the place, there's no one anywhere near. No one answers the phone of “I'll always be here anytime you call.”
Never happened once...
Just don't say if you can't pay the piper of friendship.
My God, how did I fall for a loving friendship that was one-sided?
I know now. I realize it's time to move on to my own love that I've always had. That is my husband. He's always real.
If you're so selfish that you can't reach out to what you called your “best friend,” then maybe it's time for me to move on...
If I was desperately freaking out with no contact for my friend, I would hope you would be there as I was for you, but you didn't want me to be there to help you.
I never knew that you would step over me as you walked forward in your life. You never even looked down as your foot rubbed against my shoulder as you walked over me and left me behind.
I think the silent dismissal was the worst. You didn't have to say it.
I certainly get it. I'm not family. I never was.
I had you at all of my things that meant family to me...
I hope you find the moment in this life where you need to become the most amazing person that you don't know that you are...
